Our Boot Camp 2025 win
Our team won Boot Camp 2025 with an inertial navigation system that estimates position without GPS. I led the team and worked on the algorithmic core under the mentorship of Alex B. from Alitro.
This was the fifth season of Kharkiv IT Cluster’s Boot Camp. Over two and a half months, participants built six MVPs in fields ranging from volunteering and education to fintech and robotics.
The result was my third consecutive Boot Camp win. I previously mentored the teams behind EDU Streams in 2023 and PawMerge in 2024.
The project
Inertial Navigation System is a prototype for navigation in areas where satellite signals are unavailable, jammed, or spoofed by electronic warfare. It processes inertial sensor data to estimate coordinates and reconstruct a route without a GPS connection.
Our work covered trajectory estimation, sensor-drift reduction, noise compensation, and real-time processing. The planned first use is integration with unmanned ground vehicles for demining in the Kharkiv region. The same approach can support humanitarian and agricultural work in places where satellite navigation can’t be trusted.
